On Thursday, March 3rd from 12noon to 2pm in Cruess Hall 234, ModLab will host a recruitment event for undergraduates interested in working on projects through our laboratory. ModLab is experimental laboratory for media research and digital humanities. The lab is developing new tools and methods to address the challenges faced by scholars working at the intersection of the humanities, the sciences, the social sciences, and the arts. Focusing on new media technologies, the lab offers a dynamic and collaborative environment for postdisciplinary modes of research.
We’re recruiting undergraduates for many different projects and positions. A complete list of open positions, with some preferred qualifications, can be found here: http://bit.ly/21EAz5U. Positions range from designing wearable technology to textual data mining, from PR and social media management to designing tools for youth engagement with STEM fields.
The event will open with a Q&A about our lab and a brief overview of working in the laboratory with a panel of current undergraduate assistants. Afterwards, you will get a chance to meet with representatives of current projects and talk about available opportunities to get involved. We ask that undergraduates bring copies of this form (http://bit.ly/1OJv0d9) filled out to hand to project representatives, though additional copies will be available on-site.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Evan W. Lauteria, the coordinating graduate assistant, at ewlauteria@ucdavis.edu.
